Unity In Diversity On Campus

On the Dalhousie campus there are many student ministries, many Christian communities. But it often seems like there’s little communication between these communities. The divisions between separate Christian communities are indeed noticeable. If we have Jesus our Messiah as a common vision, why do we so often fail to seek unity with our brothers and sisters of different cultural and denominational backgrounds?

I am very thankful for the Christian Reformed Campus Ministry in Halifax (CRCMH) because, in many ways, it opens up lines of communication between these communities.

Recently, Brad and a few other students began a group that is focused on addressing issues related to homelessness. I was delighted to find that in this group there are at least two Christian communities represented, and I am certain there will be more as the group grows.

There is a need to seek unity in the church, to continue building relationships among others from different backgrounds. I see this happening through the work of the CRCMH and I’m thankful to be a part of it!
