I began attending All Nations church soon after I moved to Halifax for my first year of university. There I met Brad, who invited me to attend a student supper the following Friday. Needless to say, I had other more typical Friday plans in mind; but when I received troubling family news that Friday morning, it was a wonderful relief to accept Brad and Julie’s hospitality. I don’t think I’ve missed a Friday supper since.
Through All Nations Church and campus ministries I have been lead to a Christian community which is both loving and vital. As students and Halifax youth, we are encouraged to meet together in discussion and prayer groups, and to attend a number of fellowship events, such as Friday suppers and Sunday lunches. It is wonderful to meet with people who are not only enjoyable to spend time with, but who also challenge me spiritually and intellectually through discussion and debate. I was immediately impressed with the way students here are encouraged to use their gifts in the church and as a result, feel motivated to get involved.
It is a tremendous blessing to have found such a supportive Christian family as I am starting a new stage in my life far from home.
