Faith and Learning

The university experience seems to be all about learning. Learning about how to be a friend. Learning independence. Learning academics. Learning about God. These are all important things to learn. But then what? What do we do with all we’ve learned? The next step is to apply what we’ve learned. To me, this is essential. And it’s something I’ve been working on, especially in terms of my faith.

God has shown me that he not only wants me to learn about him but he wants me to apply my faith. This means integrating faith into every aspect of my life, especially my academics. As I study different aspects of the world around me, I realize that God is in every detail. This has helped me to see God in my studies and to understand the importance of applying my faith to every paper or test I write. It has meant organizing events in ways that glorify God and learning how to glorify God in every success.

I am thankful for all God has been doing in my life. He has taught me countless lessons during my years at university and has used many different people to do this. God has especially used Brad Close this year as we meet regularly for prayer and encouragement and as I count on him for solid advice, deep conversation, and to be challenged on different ways to apply my faith.
